Brown Trout, Salmo trutta

The trout is the most popular fish by Norwegian standards. Many Norwegian anglers will travel far to catch this beautiful spotted fish. In Trysil you can find this fish in nearly every lake and all the rivers.
The trout can grow to over 10 kg in weight, but trout over 2 kg are very rare when you fish in the river. In Trysil a trout over 40 cm is a nice catch, and if you catch one over 50 cm it’s considered a very good catch.
If you fish in the right lakes in Trysil you can catch really big trout.
