General information

Trysil lies 3 hours driving north east from Norway’s capitol Oslo, close to the Swedish boarder. It is Norway’s 3rd largest commune with over 3000 square kilometres and approximately 6500 inhabitants. That means we have vaste wilderness areas with plenty of opportunities for the keen angler novice and expert alike.
Our main river changes name several times on its journey from Femund in the north to Lake Vänern in the south. As it passes through Trysil the river is, logically, known as Trysil River. The river is the longest river in Scandinavia and 100 km of it runs through Trysil.
There are also plenty of tributaries and smaller rivers throughout the commune worthwhile exploring.
When you are fond of lake fishing, Trysil can offer a huge variety of different lakes both in size, scenery and species.
